Sheesh, ugh, this is grim reminder that there isn't any shortage of macabre units of time that present themselves in this age of unhingement, as if to confirm your observation about "the shitshow construct that is time". We cannot help but think of how-many-children-killed-in-Gaza ago, or how many days spent by hostages in Hamas captivity, or how many days this journalist or those other people spent in Russian prisons ago, etc, etc. And, of course, we've already had for a long while how many mass shootings ago, how many Trump indictments ago. And soon we'll have how long since democracy ended...
